Here is what gave me the confidence to become a VEGAN
Where to start on a Vegan Diet?
First things first.
Take a sheet of paper and write it down:
- Why “on Earth” do I want to start this change in my life?
Seriously, be honest with yourself. Is it for the animals? Is it for fashion? Do you want to become a better version of yourself? Write it all! Why?
Because when you doubt it — and this it´s gonna happen — I know it by experience. Therefore, when you doubt why you changed, it´s when you go and grab this sheet and read it — OUT and LOUD — so you will remind yourself what made up your mind.
With that said, here are steps I took when two beautiful vegan women inspired me, and I changed my life — FOREVER.
Becoming vegan involves committing to avoid all animal products and only consuming plant-based foods.
Here are some steps you can take to transition to a vegan lifestyle:
1. Educate yourself
Learn about the vegan lifestyle and its benefits. Read books, and watch documentaries:
1. Seaspiracy
2. Milked
3. Eating our way to extinction
4. Dominion
5. Forks over Knives
6. What the Health
7. Armed with the truth, the game changers
8. Cowspiracy
9. Earthlings
Also, talk to other vegans to get a better understanding of what it means to be vegan.
2. Replace animal products with plant-based alternatives
Start by eliminating animal products from your diet and replacing them with plant-based alternatives. For example, replace dairy milk with plant-based milk, meat with plant-based protein sources like legumes or tofu, and cheese with vegan cheese.
3. Experiment with new recipes
Look for vegan recipes online or in cookbooks and try them out. There are plenty of delicious and healthy vegan recipes available that will help you make the transition to a plant-based diet.
4. Explore vegan options when eating out
Many restaurants now offer vegan options, and some are entirely plant-based. Before dining out, check the menu online or call ahead to ensure there are vegan options available.
5. Connect with the vegan community
Join vegan groups or attend vegan events in your community to connect with like-minded individuals and get support for your transition to a vegan lifestyle.
6. Be patient with yourself
Transitioning to a vegan lifestyle can take time, and making mistakes is okay. Be patient with yourself and keep working towards your goal of an entirely plant-based diet.
Remember that becoming vegan is a personal choice, and the most important thing is to make changes that work for you and your lifestyle.
